Tezspire

What is Tezspire?

Tezspire (tezepelumab-ekko) is a prescription medication used with other asthma medicines for the maintenance treatment of severe asthma in people 12 years of age and older whose asthma is not controlled with their current asthma medicine. Tezspire helps prevent severe asthma attacks (exacerbations) and can improve your breathing in as little as 2 weeks. It is not a rescue medicine.

How does Tezspire Work?

Tezspire helps to reduce inflammation brought on by your body’s overreaction to triggers. When you come across an asthma trigger, your lungs release multiple alarmins. One of these alarmins is among the first dominoes to fall in the body’s chain-reaction and inflammatory response to asthma triggers. Tezspire works to target and block this alarmin to proactively reduce inflammation and help prevent asthma attacks. Tezspire is an injection given by your doctor once every 4 weeks.
