Evenity

What is Evenity?

Evenity (romosozumab-aqqg) is a prescription drug used for treating osteoporosis (a condition characterized by weak, fragile bones) in postmenopausal women. Many women are at a high risk for sustaining fractures due to weak bones after menopause. Evenity may also be given to people who have not been successfully treated using other therapies.

How does Evenity Work?

Evenity is sclerostin inhibitor. Sclerostin suppresses bone formation. Evenity prevents sclerostin from inhibiting osteoblast differentiation and subsequently allows osteoblasts to produce new bone.

How is it Used?

Evenity is an injectable drug administered under the skin every month for one year by a healthcare provider. Common side effects include headaches and joint pains, but the medicine is generally very well tolerated.
